From Mrs. Dillow:

Watching the children practice for the Christmas program, I can't help but think how wonderful God is to us.  He sent us Jesus because of his love for us.  No one will ever be able to give us a gift like God has.  I pray that God blesses you and your family abundantly this holiday season.

In His Love,
Mrs. Dillow

Library and Story Time are going great!  We're reading great books and taking books home to read.  Soon we will be getting library cards!  All the classes at TCA are learning parts of the computer along with responsible care of a computer.  We are all starting to learn where our letters are on the keyboard and having a great time while we're at it!  So far we have learned about the keyboard, monitor, and mouse.  We have also talked about icons and we are learning where the "a" is located and which finger types it.  Second through fifth grades are beginning to use the shift key and the space bar.

Mrs. Tammy Riner:  Welcome back everyone!  A great year is underway, and I know it will only get better.  Something new this year, we now have a memorial scholarship in honor of my son, Alex Riner.  Alex attended TCA(then First Baptist Church Christian School) through 5th grade, and I know that God used this school and the teachers to help lay the groundwork for Alex coming to know and love Jesus.  The spiritual foundation he received here is priceless.  Sadly, God called Alex home two years ago.  In his memory, I asked to start this scholarship fund.  If you feel let to contribute any amount throughout the year just let me know in the office.  Any donation will be tax deductible and all money donated will be solely for tuition scholarships to help potential students to attend TCA.  God Bless you for your consideration.

K3 - Mrs. Lori & Mrs. Gala:  K3 has been so excited about the season change so we will continue our study on earth science in November.  God is so great!  Our class has been studying about David and Goliath and how God protects His children.  We will be doing many fall crafts that will reinforce our alphabet and are looking forward to Christmas play practice.

K4 - Mrs. Angie & Mrs. Pegg;y: We are busy learning to write our numbers and letters and we are learning about many important Bible characters.  Officer Ed came to speak to us about Trick or Treat Safety and let us play with the sirens in his car!  We will be putting together a tool box for the Festival of Trees!

K5 - Mrs. Tammy: We are hard at work on phonics, reading on vowel words, learning how to write our letters and starting addition in math!  We are beginning a unit on The Pilgrims and Native Americans, the first week of November. On November 21 Nick is celebrating his birthday.  May everyone have a blessed and safe holiday season.

First - Mrs. Salyer: We will be learning how to read a ruler and a thermometer in math.  In science we are learning about the sun, planets, and outer space.  We will be starting our new reading book,  "Stepping Stones" very soon.  First grade will be Creating a Chocolate Lovers basket for the Hall of Trees. (p.s. I am having a boy)

Second - Mrs. Matney November will be a busy month!  We will be forcusing on improving writing skills and new math concepts.  A new reading book, "No Longer a Nobody", is a novel that will be introduced.  Our calss will be working on a Cat Basket and a Dog Basket for the Festival of Trees.  Happy Thanksgiving to everyone from the Second Grade!

Third - Mrs. Bonnie: We have lots of things going on in November.  Third grade is doing the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box (due 11/11).  We are doing a red and white tree and a Taylor Swift basket for the Festival of Trees.  The children will be doing a conservation poster due on November 23rd.

Fourth/Fifth - Mrs. Alley:  We have had a good month.  Everyone is practicing daily on typing.  We are also learning about the United States by playing, "Where in the USA is Carmen San Diego?" on the computer.  Fifth grade is learning to check math problems by casting our nines.  We are finishing a unit on oceans in both 4th and 5th and hope to soon visit the Newport Aquarium.

Learning Lab - Mrs. Hatfield:  Recently a new Leap Frog, My First Click Computer has been purchased for use in the Learning Lab.  In addition, programs such as "Nemo", "Thomas the Train", and "Bob the Builder" have been purchased along with the computer.  The programs cover letters and numbers and other conecpts.  Students in K5 and First will start on these programs in November.

Mrs. Holt:  Third, Fourth, and Fifth grades are learning to play Kentucky's official state instrument, the dulcimer.  Each Wednesday we have practice, and not only do they seem to love it, they are doing great!  Music is an important part of education, and I am glad to still be a part of TCA!  We are working on music for the Christmas program.  Parents interested in purchasing a dulcimer for their child should let me know.
